plans built helicopter design

helicopterAeros Homebuilt Helicopter Plans The Aeros originally by Windspire offers an interesting VW powered single seater of all aluminium construction. The tail rotor is belt driven but seems more robust than the Rotorway design. It is mainly of bolt together aluminium construction but requires some advanced engineering in the construction of its main rotor gearbox. Usually out of the scope of the home builder. While the plans do show much information, they are far from complete lacking certain details.
helicopterA/W 95 Homebuilt Helicopter Plans and A/W 95 History
Originally known as "Choppy" and "The Flying Triumph" also the Adams-Wilson XH-1 "Hobbycopter", Doug Schwochert went to great lengths to redesign and update the single seat helicopter plans into a more sound and capable craft. After building and flying the A/W 95 with a two stroke engine he then experimented with a turbine powered version. These are one of the better sets of plans available for building the basic minimum style helicopter. While you will still find some minor detail missing, they are considered "complete". Missing detail can be found around the internet on various forums. Just google AW95.
helicopterEMG-300 Homebuilt Tip Jet Helicopter Plans
If you are looking for something different, the tip jet helicopter might be for you. While relatively simple by design, they do lack the endurance of your typical helicopter. For some it is a cheap way to get started and offers slightly easier flight control due to the lack of torque produced by typical helicopter designs. Plans are of reasonable quality but may be a little expensive for such a basic single seat design.

Based on an Augusto Cicare design (CH-4), Osvaldo Durana went about marketing these extremely detailed blueprint drawings for a very technical single seat helicopter. While its controls were innovative and eventually led to the development of the Angel CH-6 and CH-7 designs, it does contain an excessive amount of parts requiring intricate engineering. This desin was later copied again to be known as the Skylark.

Yet another spin off taken from the original single seat Adams-Wilson Choppy helicopter.
helicopterLoneStar Helicopter Partial Plans
An information pack containing the last known surviving original "partial" plans and assembly drawings for the last version of the LoneStar helicopter by Ken Rehler and Tom Carlson. Information pack contains user manuals for both versions of LoneStar helicopter plus various other relevant information along with pictures. The LoneStar is very similar in design to the Mosquito Air which was designed around the same time though with out some of the Mosquitos refinements. There is enough information supplied for the homebuilt helicopter designer/builder to replicate this craft and possibly take it to the next level of refinement.
