Development of helicopters plus the ambition of companies as well as individuals has led to the invention of ultralight helicopter.

An ultralight helicopter is a flying machine (it really flies by the way) that usually spans between 12 feet and 25 feet with a small fuselage for one or two passengers. It varies depending on the weight. Usually, an ultralight helicopters weight is between 150-190 lbs. unmanned.

Ultralight helicopter can come in three forms:

1. the ready to fly helicopter
2. the kit helicopter and
3. scratch built or plans built helicopter.

Ready to fly of course is the easiest to get in the air fast. The kit may be a little too hard to swallow (at least for some) with building a helicopter from plans only for the adventurist.

There are many popular brands of ultralight helicopter. They simply a smaller mini helicopter looking much the same as full size models though usually lacking extensive cabin coverings due to there size. But what makes these different from the rest is that ultralight helicopters are typically only made to seat one person. Flight parameters are much the same as a commercial helicopter depending on weight and power options.
